I’ve recently switched from white bread to brown bread because I’m trying to eat healthier and lose weight. However, I’ve heard that not all brown bread is actually whole grain. Does brown bread offer significant health benefits compared to white bread?

Not all brown bread is the same. Some products are simply colored brown but contain mostly refined flour.
When choosing bread, look for:
- Whole wheat or whole grain listed as the first ingredient
- Higher fiber content
- Minimal added sugar
Whole grain breads generally provide more fiber, which can help with fullness, digestion, and blood sugar control.
