Everything that falls into the category of snacks should be considered as an extra addition or complement to the daily diet, which, depending on our needs, should be controlled to a greater or lesser extent. But it will always be better to make our own snacks at home, controlling the ingredients, for example with gluten-free cookies like these that we can also use to complete lunches and dinners.

Gluten-free and Vegan Seed Crackers: Healthy Crunchy Snack Recipe.

Ingredients.

For 30 units

  • Rice flour – 150g.
  • Chickpea flour – 50g.
  • Buckwheat flour – 50g.
  • Chemical yeast (impeller) – 4g.
  • Salt – 5g.
  • Seed mix (sesame, poppy, caraway, flax) – 50g.
  • Extra virgin olive oil – 50g.
  • Water (approximately) – 150g.

How to make gluten-free crackers?

Difficulty: Easy

  • Total time – 40m.
  • Elaboration – 20m.
  • Cooking – 20m.

Preheat the oven to 170º C with heat up and down. Mix the flours with the baking powder (booster) and salt in a container, and add the seeds to taste. Add the olive oil and water, the latter little by little , mixing well.

Work the dough until it is malleable but not too sticky , moist without cracking. Add more water little by little or more chickpea flour if necessary. We can also let it rest in the refrigerator for an hour if it is somewhat sticky or there is a lot of humidity in the environment.

Roll out very thin on a clean surface or between sheets of baking paper, cut out cookies with a mold or glass and place on baking trays lined with parchment paper. Prick them with a moist fork and bake them for about 15-20 minutes, making sure they don’t burn.

What to accompany crackers with?

They are cookies that stay crispy and fresh for many days in an airtight container, without mixing them with other foods, perfect to have on hand when we need to calm our appetite between meals or take a snack that gives us energy on an outing. We can serve them with a hummus or yogurt and herb dip, vegan faux sobrasada or as a dressing for a cream of vegetables or soups.

Bottom Line.

Gluten-free and vegan seed crackers are a delicious and nutritious alternative to traditional crackers. Packed with healthy seeds and free of gluten and animal products, these crackers are perfect for those with dietary restrictions or anyone looking to add more plant-based foods to their diet. Whether enjoyed on their own or paired with your favorite dip or spread, these crackers are sure to satisfy your cravings while providing essential nutrients and energy.
