I recently started practicing yoga and notice discomfort in my wrists during poses like Downward Dog and Plank. The pain usually goes away afterward, but it makes holding the poses difficult. Is this normal for beginners?
Wrist discomfort is fairly common among beginners, especially if wrist strength and mobility are limited.
You may benefit from:
- Proper hand positioning
- Spreading fingers wide
- Strengthening wrists gradually
- Using yoga wedges or folded towels for support
Sharp or persistent pain should not be ignored and may require professional assessment.
