I recently started trying pranayama videos online. During some breathing exercises I start feeling slightly dizzy or lightheaded, especially when breathing quickly. I’m not sure whether I’m doing the techniques incorrectly or if this is normal.
Lightheadedness during breathing exercises can happen if you breathe too forcefully or too rapidly, which may lower carbon dioxide levels temporarily.
Tips:
- Slow down the pace
- Avoid forcing inhalations or exhalations
- Practice in a comfortable seated position
- Start with simple calming breathing techniques
If dizziness is severe or persistent, stop the exercise and seek guidance from a qualified instructor or healthcare professional.
