I have been on a weight loss journey that has changed my life dramatically. Being the creator of Verywel Fit, I felt it necessary to show the way — demonstrate that change is achievable if one has the right attitude, is consistent and practices balanced habits. I didn’t merely shed the extra pounds; I also became more confident, energetic and got to know my body on a deeper level. This experience was enlightening in the sense that it showed me that the source of lasting outcomes is both self-discipline and self-love.
Overview.
what motivated you to want to lose your weight?
On 32nd birthday of mine, a major change in my life it was. My way of life—staying up late, I mean, eating whatever I liked, and hardly moving—came back to haunt me. I wasn’t feeling right, really; tired, sluggish, and uncomfortable in my own skin were the words that described my state. I understood that it was time for a change when I weighed myself and saw 75 kg.
That very night I made a promise to myself: I would be the one to control my health, body, and mind. I didn’t wait for the “right moment”; the decision was made, hence the action was taken.
“Stop giving excuses to yourself, instead start to fight.”
What were your goals?
What I primarily wanted was the energy and lightness of being as well as the feeling of self-confidence. I had the goal of 65 kg, going easily into my old clothes, and leading a strong and active life.
How did you manage to achieve your goals?
What I primarily wanted was the energy and lightness of being as well as the feeling of self-confidence. I had the goal of 65 kg, going easily into my old clothes, and leading a strong and active life.
While most people were increasing their weight during the pandemic due to staying at home, I chose to invest my time in my transformation. My way was very slow but it was certainly sure:
- Reducing the intake of fried food and sugary drinks, but not completely denying oneself of these once in a while.
- Preparing most of the food at home and making sure it is nutritious.
- Going out for a walk daily with a goal of 10,000 steps.
- Focusing more on the right quantity of food and being more conscious of food intake.
- The pace was extremely slow, but to be sure, it was going forward; I was getting lighter not only in terms of my body but also my mind.
- First thing in the morning warm water with lemon is a great metabolism booster.
- Make sure protein is included in every meal—eggs, chicken, lentils being good sources.
- Do not skip meals; take the right amount of food to keep your energy level up.
- Maintaining a food diary can assist you in monitoring your habits and being conscious.
- Attempt to be physically engaged throughout the day—just a few short walks or some stretching will be helpful.

How did Verywel Fit Help?
The reason weight loss was the journey of my life that made me start VeryWel Fit, a platform through which I can deliver the same experience to others, was the main reason of my very first step. I was assisted by the team to plan my diet according to my preferences.
VeryWel Fit tailored easy home workouts especially for me. Calorie and nutrient tracking, along with other activities, can be seen as tools for holding oneself accountable and hence they helped me to be on my goals’ track. In case I were low on energy and didn’t have the zeal to do self-motivation, expert advice and team motivation were always there for me.
Did you encounter setbacks?
Yes, there were also moments in time when I gained weight during festivals and was lacking motivation to do anything. Nevertheless, instead of giving up, I recalled the cause of my start, returned to my plan, and kept my patience intact.
Advice for Others.
Consistency is more important than perfection. Initiate a little thing, keep track of your progress, and treat yourself when you achieve a goal. I have done it, so it is possible for you to naturally lose 10 kg.
What are your future goals?
My current weight is 65 kg and my objective is to maintain it, gain some lean muscle, and be able to lead an active, strong life. Also, my intention through VeryWel Fit is to be a source of motivation for others, that genuine, lasting change is always attainable.
The most important lesson?
The brain is the commander that sends the message to the rest of the body. There will be days of laziness and days of cheating, but what really counts is persistence. The progress may be slow, but it is always worth it.
“Transformation is not a dream but a reality if you are consistent and believe in yourself.”
