Even when I prepare well for presentations I still feel nervous before meetings. My heart rate increases and I feel slightly shaky although everything goes fine once I start speaking. Is this kind of response normal and is there a way to gradually become more comfortable in such situations?
Nervousness before presentations is a natural physiological response related to the body’s stress system. The brain interprets public speaking as a performance situation and releases adrenaline. Over time repeated exposure and breathing techniques help the nervous system adapt.
