I recently started beginner yoga thinking it would be relaxing and easy. But after some sessions my legs, shoulders, and back feel sore the next day. The poses didn’t even seem intense during practice. Is this normal?

Yes, yoga can activate muscles that are not commonly used in daily life, especially stabilizing muscles and deep stretching areas. Mild soreness is common when starting yoga.
To reduce soreness:
- Warm up properly
- Don’t overstretch
- Focus on breathing
- Stay hydrated
Pain should improve within a day or two. Sharp or joint-related pain is not normal and should not be ignored.
